213 entries were submitted for the 2017 tenth cycle of the Omrania | CSBE Student Award for Architectural Design. Of these, 193 qualified for consideration by the Award. Those entries came from 47 universities in fourteen countries in the Arab world: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

The Award jury consisted of Sahel Al Hiyari, principal architect at Sahel Al Hiyari and Partners in Amman,  Hanif Kara, design director and co-founder of AKT II in London and Professor in the Practice of Architectural Technology at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, and Han Tümertekin, principal architect of Mimarlar ve Han Tümertekin in Istanbul, and Atelier Han Tümertekin in Strasbourg.
