Map of Amman’s Expansion

This map was published by the Royal Jordanian Geographic Center (RJGC) in 1963. 

The expansion and contraction of Amman's borders over the years: The administrative boundaries of Amman expanded from covering 72 km² in 1983, to 144 km² in 1994, to 226 km² in 2005, to 1,662 km² in 2007. Since 2011, its area, however, has contracted to 700 km² after municipalities that had been amalgamated within Amman, such as Sahab, were again separated from the city.

خريطة توسع حدود أمانة عمان 

قام المركز الجغرافي الملكي الأردني  بنشر هذه الخريطة في عام ١٩٦٣.

توسع وتقلص حدود أمانة عمان عبر السنوات :توسعت حدود عمان عبر السنوات بحيث كانت تتضمن 72 كيلومتر مربع في عام ١٩٨٣ لتتضمن ١٤٤ كيلومتر مربع في عام ١٩٩٤ و ٢٢٦  كيلومتر مربع في عام ٢٠٠٥ و١٦٦٢ كيلومتر مربع في عام ٢٠٠٧. ولكن مساحة المناطق التابعة لأمانة عمان تراجعت في عام ٢٠١١ إلى ٧٠٠ كيلومتر مربع بعد إنفصال بلديات كانت قد ضمت سابقاً إليها مثل سحاب.
