The Abd al-Rahim Jardaneh House

The house of Abd al-Rahim Jardaneh, one of Amman’s first pharmacists, is located in the First Circle area of Jabal Amman. The house consists of three separate storeys, two originally built during the mid-1930s, and a third storey that was added during the 1950s.

The lower floor of the Abd al-Rahim Jardaneh house accommodated the Center for the Study of the Built Environment from 1999 until 2006. The upper two floors currently are used as offices for the Royal Film Commission.

The document shown below (on the right), which dates back to 1934, provides approvals by the Amman municipality of applications relating to construction work that includes new buildings as well as additions and modifications to existing ones. Among the new buildings is the house of Abd al-Rahim Jardaneh.

منزل عبد الرحيم جردانة

يقع منزل عبد الرحيم جردانة، الذي كان من أوائل صيادلة عمّان، في منطقة الدوار الأول من جبل عمان.  يتكون المنزل من طابقين منفصلين بالإضافة الى طابق ثالث منفصل أضيف في فترة الخمسينات من القرن الماضي. ويحتوي البناء اليوم على مكاتب للهيئة الملكية الأردنية للأفلام. وقد احتوى الطابق السفلي من البناء على مكاتب مركز دراسات البيئة المبنية من 1999 – 2006

تتضمن الوثيقة أدناه التي تعود إلى 1934 موافقة لجنة تنظيم المدن الفرعية في عمان على طلبات رخص إنشائية تخص أعمال بناء أبنية جديدة أو أعمال إضافة أو تعديل لأبنية قائمة. وهذا المنزل من ضمن الأبنية الجديدة التي تمت الموافقة عليها
