INWRDAM has considerable experience in graywater reuse and has developed a graywater kit that it has installed in a number of rural areas in Jordan, in conjunction with Care International. They also have developed environmentally friendly shampoos and dishwashing soaps that do not include sodium compounds, and which are particularly applicable to graywater uses.

JUST currently is implementing a large graywater pilot study at one of its dormitory buildings. The system incorporates a wetland treatment system that uses a bed of reeds to filter the graywater. Studies into the effects of the graywater on the plants and soil are underway.

RSCN has installed a graywater system in its newly constructed Nature Center in Jabal Amman. The system, which was designed and installed through technical cooperation with CSBE, also will serve as a demonstration system that can be viewed by visitors to the Nature Center.

Adel Abu-Shweimeh, who works at the King Abdullah Mosque in Amman, is the technician responsible for the design and installation of the very successful graywater system used in the King Abdullah Mosque. The system reuses filtered ablution water for the purposes of irrigation at the site.
